Agricultural machinery in this sample is split between two main hubs with different strengths rather than a single-city industry. Weifang is the core of the Weifang-Linyi-Rizhao Smart Agricultural Machinery Cluster, designated a National Advanced Manufacturing Cluster by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, covering tractors, harvesters and full-cycle mechanization equipment, with Weichai Power headquartered there for diesel engines and Weichai Lovol for complete machines. Chongqing holds the largest share of suppliers profiled here; its base is motorcycles and the general-purpose small gasoline engines and generator sets that firms such as Zongshen extended from motorcycle engines into agricultural and portable power uses. Smaller established pockets sit in Yancheng, which has made tractors and internal combustion engines since the 1950s (including Jianghuai Power and Mahindra Yueda), and in Changzhou, whose diesel-engine line runs from Housheng Machinery Factory in 1913 through Changchai and the S195 single-cylinder diesel. The top three cities account for 35% of the category in this sample, spread across 54 cities, headed by Chongqing, Weifang and Linyi.

For a buyer the geography means separate supply-chain checks, not one trip. In Weifang and Linyi the supporting chain sits around finished agricultural machines and the diesel power systems that go into them, so visits can cover complete equipment. Chongqing suppliers are more often engine and generator specialists upstream of farm machinery; confirm whether a firm profiled as a manufacturer is set up for agricultural-duty engines rather than motorcycle or general portable power. Yancheng offers longer-running tractor and engine makers, while Changzhou is mainly a diesel-engine source. With 128 suppliers profiled across provinces and only 35% in the top three, covering the category usually requires trips to both Shandong and Chongqing or the lower Yangtze cities, and checking each profile against the actual product line rather than assuming every listing is a full-line agricultural-machinery plant.
